Injectables & Dermal Fillers

We use a product known as BTx-A. This product is a purified natural protein that is administered through the skin to work on the underlying muscles of the face.

Over years of repetitive and sometimes hyperactive contraction, these facial muscles cause wrinkles in the overlying skin. BTx-A relaxes the muscle contractions and allows the skin to become smooth again – regaining a more youthful appearance.

BTx-A is especially useful for treating “crow’s feet” around the eyes, horizontal forehead lines and frown lines between the eyes. Results are temporary, lasting for 3-6 months.

Injectables are now being increasingly used in dentistry due to its therapeutic uses in treatment of certain oral conditions. This therapy is a minimally invasive procedure and is showing quite promising results in management of:

  • Muscle-generated dental diseases like TMJ disorders (jaw joint), bruxism (grinding), “gummy smiles”, masseter hypertrophy (enlargement of the cheek muscle), and many other conditions caused by undesired muscle action, can now be made simpler and less invasive through the use of filler injections by Dentists.

  • Orthodontic therapy, removable prosthodontics.

  • This also can be effectively applied to treat aesthetic dental conditions like deep nasolabial folds, radial lip lines, high lip line and black triangles between teeth.

  • Traditionally, lines appearing on the forehead; between the eyes (glabellar region); and around the eyes (crow’s feet), have been the most common areas treated for aesthetic reasons.  These lines can cause skin deterioration and aesthetic defects which appear to artificially age a person and have a significant impact on self-esteem. The number of new uses for fillers has expanded substantially and now includes other areas of direct importance to Dentists.

  • One of the main complications/the bonus of effect of injercables intervention is a reduction in the tone of the injected muscle, leaving the surface smooth and aesthetically pleasing.

What are dermal fillers?

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found in the body which helps to hydrate and provide volume to our skin – keeping it looking young.

With age and exposure to the elements, our bodies produce less of this youth-preserving ingredient and skin begins to sag creating unsightly facial lines and grooves, resulting in an overall dull and sunken appearance.

Using a HA-based gel, which is administered into the dermis of the skin, we can quite literally “fill” these lines, grooves, and sunken areas – restoring youthful volume to the face and brightening your overall appearance.

HA Dermal Fillers are temporary by nature, lasting anywhere from 6-12 months before being completely absorbed by the body.

Dermal Fillers provide immediate results and as such are also ideal for use in lip augmentation to correct asymmetries or provide fuller, more defined lips.
